Career Readiness
Our vocational training and career readiness program offers comprehensive support, including career aptitude and interest exploration, vocational program enrollment, and hands-on workforce readiness training. Participants will also gain essential skills and a solid understanding of labor laws and workers' rights to prepare them for success in the job market.
1
career aptitude & interest exploration
Through individualized assessments and counseling, we help youth identify their strengths, interests, and potential career paths, with a focus on high-demand skilled trades and technical fields in Okaloosa County. This includes exploring careers that may be less impacted by a juvenile record, providing clearer career direction.
2
vocational program enrollment & support
We provide guided enrollment in local vocational and technical training programs (e.g., at Okaloosa Technical College, George Stone Technical College, or credible private providers) such as HVAC, Electrical, Construction Trades, Automotive, Culinary Arts, or IT. We assist with applications, fees, and provide ongoing support, leading to industry-recognized certifications and immediate employability.
3
workforce readiness & soft skills training
Our workshops focus on essential soft skills for the workplace, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, punctuality, conflict resolution, and professionalism. We also cover understanding employer expectations and managing pay stubs, increasing employability and ensuring a smooth transition into the work environment.
4
labor laws & workers' rights
We educate youth on basic labor laws, workers' rights, workplace safety, and professional conduct, ensuring they are informed and empowered participants in the workforce.
